What is Recruitment?
Recruitment is when we get to go out and meet all the beautiful ladies that show interest in becoming a sister of Phi Sigma Rho. We recruit new members every year during Fall quarters.
Throughout the first week of the quarter, there will be Recruitment events. In this week, you will learn about who we are and get a chance to meet the ladies of Phi Sigma Rho. You will also be able to participate in events in which you will have the opportunity to meet and bond with all our sisters while learning more about Phi Sigma Rho.
You will be able to meet every single active sister of Phi Sigma Rho. After which will make the choice to extend an invitation for you to become inducted into the chapter.
Throughout your candidacy process, you will learn more about our history, traditions, and values. You will face challenges and hold responsibilities. Eligibility
Phi Sigma Rho is a technical sorority which means in order to be eligible for recruitment, an interested party must have a GPA of 2.7 or higher, but for incoming freshmen the party must have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students in the following majors are eligible:
-Aerospace Engineering
-Chemistry
-Chemical and Materials Engineering
-Civil Engineering
-Computer Science
-Electrical and Computer Engineering
-Engineering Technology
-Geological Sciences
-Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
-Mathematics and Statistics
-Mechanical Engineering
-Physics
*Any major requiring calculus based physics is also eligible
Our majors focus on the analytical aspect of the world around us. We are curious for what the world has to offer, and how we can create a better one.
Therefore, together we build the future, is our motto that represents the emphasis of Phi Sigma Rho to promote women in engineering.
